Chapman Tate Associates are working alongside and established IT Solutions Provider of Hybrid Cloud Services, Data Centre Centric and Digital Transformation Services, that seek a 3rd-Line Level IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer at this exciting time.

This is a varied role that will include a range of support to a varied clientele where you will resolve issues with problems to customer's IT Infrastructure.

The role will include 3rd (and 4th-Level work) around the following:

  • Configuration and administration of the TrueSight Operations Patrol Agent Software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, configure monitoring to communicate with customer agent and enterprise data servers and storage arrays.
  • Ensure that TrueSight Monitoring policies are applied correctly using standard policies and procedures
  • Manage installation, configuration and administration of VMware ESX/ESXi, vCenter and Hyper-V environments
  • Installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems. OS and software with Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Active Directory, SNMP, and Putty.
  • Installation/configuration, operation, maintenance of system hardware and software with Linux.
  • Coordinate with customers, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability of monitoring, reliability, and scalability of ParkView systems to meet corporate objectives.
  • Perform file system and database configuration and management on Patrol Agent deployments.
  • Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Recommend and execute modifications to Windows systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Involvement in ensuring the successful operation of clients' critical IT infrastructure on a day-to-day basis.
  • Identifying areas where technology can improve their business performance and carrying out the associated technical implementations.
  • Working with clients alongside their IT team while being supported by technical experts.
  • Providing technical escalation for our own service desk while dealing with critical systems within an industrial environment.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation during off hours and weekends.
  • Supports corporate ParkView IT (information technology) and depot networks, including remote (VPN) access to those networks, including troubleshooting LAN issues in conjunction with network administrators.
  • Escalate problems (when required) to the senior engineers, ParkView Operations Stakeholders and Management.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
  • Maintain documentation for production environments.
  • Maintains an ongoing in-depth level of professional development to enhance technical skills, communication skills, business knowledge, and knowledge of IT products.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in System Engineering is preferable (Hardware Systems Engineers/Data Centre Hardware Support Engineers will also be considered for this role)
  • 2-4 years of experience with server administration of VMware, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, Hyper-V on WS 2012 R2.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across customer base and provide excellent service.
  • Detailed Knowledge of Server and Storage OEM (HP/EMC/Dell/NetApp/IBM) Management (iLO, iDRAC, Management GUI) Configuration and Administration
  • Experience with variety of storage systems, backup systems and systems automation.
  • Troubleshooting Knowledge of Telnet, SSH, SNMP, WBEM
  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve within cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure.
  • Experience supporting monitoring solutions, Nagios, Solarwinds, BMC TrueSight Operations, Patrol etc.
  • Experience with VMWare, VCenter, and Hyper-V including design and engineering, as well as administration.
  • Experience with Windows 7/10 desktop.
  • Experience in virtualization, distributed file system, data replication between sites, disaster recovery and backup systems.
  • Previous experience doing IT troubleshooting in a production environment.
  • Proven experience of working with in a customer facing role.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a global team.
  • Knowledge of major hardware components, RID configuration, backup systems, storage technology, clustering and load balancing.
  • Working knowledge of network and desktop administration in a LAN environment.
  • Ability to navigate through OEM monitoring tools.
