GENERAL SUMMARY:

 

Under the general supervision of the Safety Manager, the safety clerk supports a safe culture, assisting management and plant personnel in and achieving all safety goals.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.         Assists in identifying and eliminating safety hazards.

 

2.         Assists with monthly safety meetings and/or specific safety training.

 

3.         Assists plant personnel and management with safety related problems.

 

4.         Orders safety items and supplies.

 

5.         Maintains and updates safety displays.

 

6.         Performs/reviews/revises Job Safety Analysis throughout plant.

 

9.         Assists in auditing plant areas and contractors.

 

RELATED DUTIES:

 

  1. Files and maintains specific safety forms and data.

 

  1. Leads/ assists in incident analysis for the plant.

 

  1. Reports all repairs to supervisor and maintenance department. 

 

  1. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

 

  1. Teach plant personnel, contractors, and management on all safety related topics.

 

  1. Performs any other assigned duties within the job classification skill level.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

2.         Must be able to follow oral and written instruction.

 

3.         Must be able to use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point) and demonstrate those skills.

 

7.         Must have good verbal communication skills.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

1.         A large amount of time will be either standing or walking.

 

2.         Exposed to heat in the summer and moderate cold in the winter.

 

3.         Exposed to noise.

 

4.         Exposed to lift trucks and other plant machinery.

 

5.         Job will require light to moderate lifting.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

1.         High school graduate or equivalent.

 

2.         Must be able to read and write.

 

SAFETY & LOSS CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.         Instruct employees concerning the hazards of the job, and how to avoid injury and property damage.

 

2.         Instill safety awareness in employees through personal contacts, and by conducting group safety meetings.

 

3.         Investigate the cause of all accidents, even those that result in minor injuries, and complete reports as required.

 

4.         To be thoroughly familiar with, and to instruct employees in emergency evacuation and other emergency procedures.

 

5.         Seek the assistance and advice of Safety Representatives on matters concerning safety practices, policies and/or procedures.

Rate: $15.00 thru $17.25

General office clerks assist Southwire Company business units, and other staff as assigned, in the daily management and operations of offices.


Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

  • Create template title blocks for various size engineer drawings
  • In Model Space, create a layer for each PDF underlay for specified PDF file (floor plans), create PDF Underlay and place on its layer at proper scale
  • In Model Space, create complete floor plans by combining (stitching/cropping) PDF underlays together to form once complete layout per floor, set transparency at 25%, lock layer
  • In Model Space, create specified layers for electrical panels and equipment, set up text size to be same as circuit number on PDF
  • In Model Space, select specific Panel Layer and place circuit numbers for corresponding electrical equipment using custom LISP Routine
  • Plotting and creating PDF files, other miscellaneous tasks as directed Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Good Technical Skills
  • Ability to aid with drawings viewings and sheets.
