Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist II should have expert knowledge of electrical and instrumentation principles, theories, and established methodologies sufficient to design development and modification of various marine, electrical, control and instrumentation systems. 


Position duties include participating in the design development and resolution of engineering issues related to electrical and instrumentation design and analysis; assisting the technical staff including engineers and designers in developing appropriate approaches to complex or technically difficult tasks including the development of block diagrams, connection diagrams, schematics, layouts, procurement specifications, vendor expediting, and resolution of engineering issues related to electrical and instrumentation systems. Additionally, reviewing the work of the staff to assure the technical accuracy of documentation.

  • Developing and/or reviewing electrical and instrumentation engineering reports and calculations in compliance with Classification and Regulatory Rules and ensuring company standards for safety are incorporated.
  • Developing design basis and construction specifications and participate in construction, electrical and instrumentation completion and commissioning processes as performed by the company.
  • Participate in the resolution of engineering design and analysis problems, including accurate scheduling, control, quality, and safety of designs for onboard electrical and instrumentation installations.
  • Perform vessel or equipment inspections and attend tests of construction work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, workmanship standards and contract specifications
  • Assist in the Organization of technical discussions with subcontractors and vendors to specify designs or systems necessary for an engineering project.
  • Evaluate existing designs of engineering systems to determine the operational effectiveness, safety, and relative cost of such systems.
  • Attend and document Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of various drilling and floating production units and electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors to assure all regulatory and classification body's requirements are met in all cases of equipment fabrications, installation, and repair.
