Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has an exciting opportunity available for a Safe and Well Officer to join our team in Maidstone. About the Safe and Well Officer role: Do you want to help people feel safe in their homes? Safe and Well officers visit customers in their homes to help them live safely and maintain independence. You will improve fire safety for customers and offer support alongside other agencies to support customers health and wellbeing. The role of a Safe and Well Officer is a predominantly lone working role. An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken before an offer of appointment can be made. As our Safe and Well Officer, you will be responsible for: Visiting customers in their homes and assess the risk of fire Offering and fitting free fire prevention equipment Where required, working alongside multi-agencies to ensure the customer has a holistic package of support Working closely with KFRS safeguarding team to ensure vulnerable customers are appropriately supported. You will have a local base station but will be required to work county-wide and have use of a fire service vehicle What we re looking for in our Safe and Well Officer: The ability to make informed judgements about safety and risk Effective communication skills to help enact change with the ability to act sensitively Experience of safeguarding and confidential working Proven experience of working within a highly demanding environment, including potentially being emotionally demanding Good literacy skills and time management Full Driving Licence Closing date: midnight, Sunday 25th September 2022 Interviews will take place on the 11th, 13th or 14th October 2022 If you feel have the skills and experience to become our Safe and Well Officer please click apply today, we d love to hear from you!
