Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Project and Membership Associate to join our DIPPR team. The successful individual will support the team in implementing a wide variety of member programs and activities.


Under the direction of the Executive Director of DIPPR, the Project and Membership Associate will enable DIPPR to achieve its objectives.

  • Routinely connect with DIPPR members through voice, email/virtual, and in-person contact, ensuring members are aware of, and have access to, DIPPR resources
  • Support onboarding calls with new member organizations to introduce them to DIPPR and help them become an impactful contributor to the community.
  • Follow-up with member requests and questions
  • Maintain and improve the DIPPR website
  • Provide access to, and provide first response to questions relating to, the DIPPR website and DIPPR resources
  • Become familiar with DIPPR tools and software
  • Help develop, track, and update project progress using spreadsheets or other tools, as necessary
  • Demonstrate ability to solve problems, to manage systems and data, and to suggest appropriate solutions
  • Provide assistance with membership outreach and retention strategies
  • Help coordinate DIPPR activities with AIChE sales, marketing, education, and management teams to develop member benefit and marketing materials
  • Support DIPPR stakeholder and board meetings
  • Help develop and disseminate monthly newsletters and frequent technical bulletins
  • Assist with the development of content and posting on DIPPR social media platforms
  • Facilitate membership applications, contracts, and invoicing processes
  • Other activities as determined by DIPPR Executive Director


  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • A basic understanding of thermodynamic terms, a plus
  • Strong listening skills, attention to detail, and decision-making skills
  • Dedicated to meeting the requests of internal and external customers by providing timely updates
  • Adept at effectively working with and building and sustaining relationships
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Software Proficiencies

  • MS Office Products: minimum intermediate level (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams)
  • Smart Sheet experience is a plus

Location & Travel

  • This position can be either at our NYC Global Office when COVID in person restrictions are lifted or be located remotely.
  • Travel is expected 2-4 times a year.

Education & Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience; non-profit experience a plus
  • Experience working with subject matter experts, volunteers, faculty, and management
