Opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Technician to join an engineering training organisation, MKC Training, based at The Royal School of Military Engineering in Chatham, Kent. Permanent, immediate start (subject to checks), great career prospects and benefits.
The Maintenance Engineer / Fitter will be responsible for the inspection, testing and repair of all mechanical machinery and equipment used within the technical trade workshops, offices and classrooms. You will be working on a variety of machinery, learning aids, and specialist military equipment used in the Army by the Royal Engineers.
Candidates will have completed a recognised apprenticeship with relevant qualifications. City and Guilds. NVQ.
The Maintenance Engineer / Fitter will be working on a wide variety of equipment, where the following skills will be of interest (not all essential):
- Machine turning
- Bench fitting
- Welding and brazing
- Sheet metal work
- Petrol and diesel engines/generators
- Pumps and hydraulics
- Servicing of small and large machines.
- Able to read and interpret engineering diagrams and charts.
- Working at heights
Full UK driving license is required.
£30K Monday to Friday 37 hours - Monday to Thursday, early finish Fridays.Excellent benefits to include 6 weeks holiday (plus bank hols), Pension, Private Healthcare, Use of Gym and other facilities on site.
