Primary Responsibilities


  1. The Fleet Manager is responsible for leading and directing a team of drivers to transport customer goods efficiently.
  2. Develop Driver retention strategies
  3. Supervise 1-3 employees
  4. Train new and existing fleet drivers. Managing vehicle licensure and registration.
  5. Ensuring all fleet members have proper licensure and up-to-date training.
  6. Monitoring Drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices.
  7. Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance, and fleet progress.
  8. Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency.
  9. Will be responsible for creating work schedules and transportation routes for drivers to pick up and deliver goods to the correct location.
  10. Measure the performance of the Transport Department and manage a budget for vehicle repairs and replacements and ensure Driver candidates receive proper training to uphold safe driving standards.
  11. Perform various administrative functions including payroll approval, maintaining repair order maintenance, and compliance documentation.
  12. Issue road tax and vehicle permits.


Additional Responsibilities        


  1. Oversee/train Recruitment Intern if applicable.
  2. Pick up or move company fleet vehicles as necessary.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of industry experience in fleet maintenance or an operations capacity
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a CDL A Driver or other relevant driving experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of driver requirements; i.e. Licensure, Insurance,
  • Previous experience supporting the purchase of vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet
  • Previous experience with scheduling regular maintenance on all fleet vehicles.
  • Establishing efficient routes and transportation schedules.
  • Coordinating Drivers and on-staff maintenance professionals when setting employee schedules.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and/or related software
