White Oak is a provider of loans and asset finance to SME businesses across the UK. Our Glasgow Office opened in January 2019 and since it s opening has supported SME growth in Scotland and beyond by providing funding across its portfolio of products. Typical transaction size ranges from £10k to £1M+, offering multiple product lines across loans and asset finance. White Oak s own funding book has grown to over £500M with ambitions to grow that significantly in the coming months. The business has also established good external funding partnerships and is thus a rather unique principal lender that can double as an intermediary too, giving significant flexibility in its offering to clients, old and new. As part of our continuing growth strategy, we need to further add to our established Sales Team and as such seek motivated, enthusiastic, ambitious and hard working individuals who can demonstrate a sales ability and character to meet the demands of our clients, and who would add to our already growing reputation as a significant business finance provider. White Oak is an FCA authorised and regulated European Lending Platform which provides capital to support SMEs and mid-corporates through its full suite of flexible lending products. Headquartered in the UK, White Oak s team of 170 specialists currently services a loan portfolio of over £500 million and have originated over £1.5 billion of assets since 2018. As a financing affiliate of White Oak Global Advisors, LLC (WOGA), White Oak is able to access investor capital to support White Oak s lending activities to complement its funding from banks and other financial institutions. WOGA is an SEC registered global alternative asset manager with over $6.8bn of Assets under Management, focussed on direct lending to non-sponsored small and medium sized entities (SMEs), offering term loans, leases, asset-based loans and other specialty products across its affiliates to companies with enterprise values between $25m and $1bn. White Oak Global Advisors was founded in 2007 and, along with its affiliates, has a global presence with over 470 professionals. As part of WOGA s strategy in deploying investors funds to the SME market, it has created and acquired, on behalf of its institutional investors, a number of affiliate companies in recent years that bring specialist product, origination, underwriting and servicing capabilities. These include two factoring companies in the US including White Oak Commercial Finance, the US s 5th largest factor, and one of the largest non-bank SME lenders in the UK, LDF Group, in June 2018, which has since been incorporated into White Oak. Description of role and key responsibilities Present WO to potential clients predominantly through telephone contact Be responsible for your own lead generation and convert inbound enquiries Develop new business relationships with potential clients by offering our products via superior customer service Achieve productivity and sales budget KPI s set out by the Company Develop an understanding of customer requirements to offer a client focused service Adhere to FCA Conduct rules and Core Responsibilities relating to Sales function and the role Maintain and manage a pipeline and ensuring administration is completed on WOUK s internal systems to aid the fair treatment of customers Create and be accountable for all client quotes and proposals, following WOUK Finance procedures through the whole process Understand your client s requirements and price transactions accordingly Perform your role with a positive and constructive attitude within the team environment Ensure all compliance regulation and legislation is adhered to where relevant Interact professionally with the Head of Sales, Team Managers, and the various support teams Any other request deemed reasonable from your line manager Core Skills and Knowledge Ability to work independently and pro-actively High degree of self-motivation and desire to drive success Demonstrate a commitment to achieve the highest standards Strong IT, customer service, organisation and time management skills Ability to create and maintain strong client relationships, communicate with clients and key stakeholders Ability to negotiate effectively and influence decisions Good understanding of the products offered (loans and asset finance) and the markets that WOUK target (desired but training is provided). Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, our customers and our business. Any Experience 2-5 years of prior sales experience gained within a financial services environment would be advantageous e.g. insurance, lending, business-to-business.
