Adecco are recruiting proactive Station assistants with a positive approach to join our client. Our client is one of the primary rail operators in the UK! You will assist with all station platform procedures, ensuring a safe and effective workplace for all our staff and customers and provide a consistently high standard of customer service. Any successfully candidates will be drug and alcohol tested, travel passes will also be provided and you will be paid for your time. Role: Station assistant Duration: 3 Months Location: Stockport What are the essentials of the job? Working in partnership with the On Board and Station teams to provide all of our customers a safe, relaxing journey, dealing with them in a welcoming, friendly, and professional way. To be a key player within the Customer Experience Team in providing the highest level of service encompassing the roles and responsibilities of the Security & Revenue Protection Team. To protect our company revenue and increase our market shares by delivering excellence in Customer Service. Communicate effectively with other On Board and Stations teams to create an amazing customer experience whilst being safe, always ensuring your own personal safety and that of others at all times. Assist customers with their travel needs, ensuring that at all times, concise and accurate information is provided. Assist in duties at times of service disruption and emergencies ensuring that appropriate advice is relayed to customers. Operate the wide aisle gate for passengers with incompatible tickets and by giving directions to ticket sales points. Identifying hazards to the gate line operation and opening the gates in any emergency operation where required. Ensuring the numbers of gates set for passenger flows in each direction is appropriate. Identify passengers encountering difficulties and directing to give them assistance. Identify potential issues for customers at gate lines and support in resolving them. Assist our Station people and other T.O.Cs to provide customer service to our customers ensuring customers with individual needs are looked after and informed. Specific safety responsibilities: As part of our requirements to understand and support our people and our railway operations, we expect all our people to undertake training in safety critical duties (subject to medical). We will provide full training, so you will get another skill to add to your CV! In the event you are unable to perform safety critical duties, we will provide training in other roles such as supporting at stations or on board our trains. This supports both customer and colleague engagement and provides valuable insight that can help you in your role.
